New office workstation
In 2011 I was lucky enough to find money for a decent workstation for the office. I was working with large data sets and 3D visualization and I needed especially computing power and memory. I purchased Dell Precision T5500 with Xeon X5690 with 6 cores running at 3.47 GHz, 48 GB of RAM and Nvidia Quadro P2000. It has served me well ever since with fantastic performance compared with everything I own of laptops. When SINTEF forced upgrading from Windows 7 to 10 a few years back, I almost had to let it go since there were no options for upgrading to windows 10. I eventually had an expert from EVRY upgrade it for me manually. Even with Windows 10, the performance has been fantastic. I upgraded it with my own Nvidia GeForce GTX 670 to give it a boost as well. Recently, I've been running into trouble with my Office applications and OneDrive.
